Gregory Audio  was established in 2009 to sell sample collections and software created by Lee James Gregory BSc.  Also offering a place to promote related projects

Lee is an electroacoustic musician and has been creating music in his home studio using computers (and more/less traditional instruments) since the late 1990’s.  He started creating his own software using Cycling 74’s Max in the mid 2000’s as part of a Creative Music and Sound Technology degree at Leeds Metropolitan University.  Excited by the creative possibilities and having many ideas for software projects Lee bought Max and has since been enthusiastically and obsessively working to realise these ideas.  Launching Gregory Audio with two small but useful programmes (GA Player and GA Frequency) witch try to offer something different to the user (see the software page for more details) with bigger projects in development for 2010.

As an electroacoustic musician recordings of natural and unnatural sounds are a large part of the creative process.  This was the inspiration for the sample collections that will soon be available from this site.  Lee has made many hours of recordings both in the studio and in the field using professional recording equipment and spent many further hours processing and manipulating these recordings using state of the art commercial equipment and software as well as creations of his own.  The samples will come in wav and aiff audio formats and NI kontakt maps and will range from very organic natural sounds to bioacoustics to circuit bending, but will avoid traditional instruments (with a few exceptions) such as piano of which there are already many excellent examples.   The first collections will become available by early 2010.
